“Sarah On Tour” London
I LOVE London. I lived in London for nearly 20 years in Clapham Junction, Putney, Camden, Bloomsbury, Holborn and finally Shoreditch before the beards moved in!
Visits to London are roughly a few times a month for work meetings, inspiration, exhibitions, research and just that city buzz – oh and my suchi fix.
Many contacts from the Independent Hotel Show are London based so I'll be dipping in and out of the city over the next few months to soak up the festive atmosphere and meet lots of new hotels, interior designers, bloggers and all round creative new friends.
If you wanna meet up on my tour and find out more about me and my work, collaborate and have a chat to see where it leads then please do get in touch – email. facebook. twitter. all the usual ways or just pick up the old fashioned phone!
SO London was a fun trip – here's some highlights –
Mayfair meeting with the lovely Natalie Wells from Isla & Eden luxury wallpapers – http://isla-eden.co.uk discussing all sorts of interesting collaboration ideas and opoprtunities –
Bond Street is quite an amazing part of London to wander around – or should I say dash – the very high end window displays, doormen, security guys and blacked out Bentleys are really quite something in that part of town!
Sadly I don't yet have a driver however I'm quite happy on the tube or bus, the tube as a necessity the bus as a pleasure – here's a couple of images from both good old London Transport systems..
Back towards the West End where I"m certainly in my comfort zone, I met up with the lovely http://www.kiransingh.net/ for a chat about her exciting design aspirations and highly succesful blog which was up for nomination in the interior blog awards
here http://www.interiorblogawards.com/vote/my-unique-home/ always interesting to hear of other designers' journeys and plans – all helped by the wonderful setting infront of the Royal Courts of Justice – awe inspiring architecture –
Next was a hop, skip and a jump to The Cafe Royal in Regent Street where a sumptous foyer and pepermint tea were the order of the day with the fabulous @ClaireLLeslie
Home time after a busy day took me to my old stomping ground – Columbia Road – famous for it's Sunday flower market to meet a dear dear friend who I went to drama school with back in the day – we drank wine & popped out to "Clutch" a trendy chicken joint with some very cool lighting…
Cool lighting at http://clutchchicken.com chicken's good too!
Day two was just as busy – meeting a fantastic new supplier who makes goodies such as these
Another West End coffee with a fabulous interior designer Cathy Oliver who seems to be working all over the place on some fantastic projects: http://www.cathyoliver-interiors.co.uk and then a fascinating meeting with a global organisation who represent women around the world – they have the most amazing history and archive collection that I hope will become a live project so then I can spill the beans on who they are – 'til then its #fingerscrossed
Final stop was in the iconic Soho Square where I was invited to meet with an amazing interior design team who have some very impressivie work under their brand – it was quite an honour to be in the board room chatting through my approach to design and how we may be able to collabotate together – an hour or so later I was buzzing with excitement at the suggestion that my work could become a part of their creative team – watch this space…..
PHEW – I'm weary from just remembering the week that's been….let me know if you'd like to meet me on my next London jaunt…
