Boutique and individual was the brief but with one client wanting an antiques-led ‘heritage’ feel while his partner preferred contemporary, bold colours and minimalism, the challenge was set.
Sarah Burghard Designs styled the six en suite guest rooms by combining custom-made accessories with a relaxed mix of reproduction furniture and a sprinkling of antiques.
Feature pieces such a telescope, reclaimed teak boat decking, a retro train luggage rack and subtle boating references gave reference to the building’s history. Blending these with fresh, simple shaped furniture and plush, tactile textiles brought the best from both client’s visions into six individually decorated boutique bolt holes.
Sarah’s design highlight – Creating lampshades, cushions and stools using both designer fabrics and my own designs and then creating framed pictures that subtlety incorporate the logo into their design.
